Marking Pens

Top: China Marker Pencil, Middle: Nursery Pen and Bottom: Uni-Paint.
Since we cannot control your garden environment, we cannot in any way guarantee the durability of any pen, pencil or other marking device, BUT we continue to offer pencils and pens that have been recommended to us as being the best for various climates.
The China Marker Pencil is one of the oldest pencils used for marking the labels. It is inexpensive, easy to use, and reasonably weatherproof.
The Uni-Paint (formerly the Faber Paint Pen) actually dispenses enamel paint in a felt-tip type applicator
The Nursery Pen is a felt-tip pen but the ink has additional chemicals in it to make it more sunproof and waterproof. Although considerably more expensive than the others it has the best record for durability in all parts of the country.
If you are undecided which pen will be best for you, we offer a pen sampler. It contains one each of the three above. You can choose the one you like the best and use the others wherever a good marks-on-anything pen or pencil is needed.
Suggestion: Be sure to also mark on the reverse side of the plates as you write on the front. It takes only seconds more to do this but that way, if the writing on the front does weather off, the less exposed reverse side will still have the necessary information you need for identification of your plants.
